Get to Know Us
Prud’homme is more than a name, it’s a reflection of the people, history, and values that continue to shape this community.

Officially named in 1922 after Bishop Joseph H. Prud’homme, a prominent figure in the Catholic communities of Prince Albert and Saskatoon, the village carries a legacy rooted in faith, education, and the early foundations of Saskatchewan’s Francophone culture. But like many prairie communities, its identity wasn’t built overnight. Before becoming Prud’homme, the village moved through several names; each one marking a stage of growth, settlement, and change.
What remains constant is a strong sense of belonging.

From its beginnings in mission life and cultural preservation to the vibrant, multi-generational community it is today, Prud’homme has always been shaped by the people who chose to build something here and stay.

Located along Highway 27, just 45 minutes northeast of Saskatoon and a short drive from Humboldt, Prud’homme offers a balance that’s increasingly rare: access to opportunity without losing connection to community. It’s a place where neighbours still know each other, where traditions are carried forward, and where leadership continues to invest in a future grounded in its past.

This is not just where we’ve been.
It’s who we are, and where we’re going.
